About the Team
Green Gears is a team of driven engineering students participating from the United Arab Emirates University, striving to make an impact in the sustainable transportation industry. The team combines multiple skills and disciplines to produce innovative solutions. Green Gears have set their sights further than the regional competition and aim to make it to the global finals, competing under the Prototype class powered by the electric motor.

About Shell-Eco Marathon
The Shell Eco-marathon is a global competition that challenges student teams to design, build, and drive
the most energy-efficient vehicles possible. Participants aim to travel the farthest distance using the
least amount of energy.The goal is to encourage innovative thinking and the development of sustainable mobility solutions.
The competition features various vehicle classes and energy types, fostering creativity and technological
advancements in multiple areas.
Vehicle Classes

Prototype
These vehicles are designed for maximum efficiency. They are often futuristic, lightweight, and have a low drag coefficient. The focus is purely on energy efficiency, with less emphasis on practicality.

The Urban concept
UrbanConcept vehicles are designed to be closer to road-worthy vehicles, with more practical designs that could potentially be used in everyday urban settings. They must meet stricter regulations and have features like upright seating and more recognizable car shapes.
Energy Types

Internal Combustion Engine (ICE)
These vehicles use traditional fuels such as gasoline, diesel, or ethanol. The challenge is to maximize fuel efficiency using conventional combustion methods.

Battery Electric
Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) are powered by electric motors using energy stored in batteries. The competition tests how far a vehicle can travel on a single charge.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell
These vehicles use hydrogen gas to generate electricity through a fuel cell. The challenge here is to optimize the use of hydrogen to produce electricity efficiently and extend the vehicle's range.
